Structured, collaborative and adaptable

The best solution is not always the biggest or most technical one. I start by understanding what the organisation is trying to achieve, how it works and what its people can realistically take on.

I use the PACe Framework as a simple way of connecting four parts of the work: Preparation, Action, Control and Enhancement. Not every assignment needs every stage, and the level of support is adapted to the organisation.

1

Preparation

Understand and equip

First, I learn how the organisation works: what it has already committed to, what matters most, who needs to be involved and where the practical constraints lie.
Depending on the brief, this may involve document review, interviews, surveys, workshops or tailored learning. The aim is to establish a sound starting point and enough shared understanding to make informed decisions.

2

Action

Build and implement
Together, we translate priorities into something usable. This could be a strategy, roadmap, work plan, governance arrangement, event requirement, course or practical tool.
I focus on clear decisions, responsibilities and next steps - not simply producing a polished document and leaving the organisation to work out what happens next.

3

Control

Measure and account
We establish a proportionate way to track progress, review evidence and report honestly.
That may include KPIs, data collection, impact or carbon measurement, progress reviews and public reporting. The objective is to create enough structure to support decisions, learning and credibility without introducing unnecessary reporting burdens.

4

Enhancement

Learn and improve
Evidence and experience should feed back into the work. I help teams identify what is working, solve implementation problems, update priorities and strengthen their approach over time.

This may take the form of a defined review, a second phase of work or longer-term advisory support.

How I Work With Clients

I can lead a self-contained project, work alongside an internal team and specialist partners, or stay involved across several connected workstreams over a number of years.
In each case, my role is to bring structure, ask useful questions, undertake the detailed work and help people keep moving. I aim to be clear about what I know, what still needs to be tested and what the organisation can realistically deliver.
You may already know the output you need, or you may have a broader challenge that still needs shaping. Both are good places to start.
