Strategy to Action
Turn sustainability ambitions into clear priorities, responsibilities and a practical route forward.
Strategy to Action is for sport organisations developing or refreshing a sustainability strategy, or struggling to turn existing commitments into implementation. The focus is on creating something practical that people can understand, own and use.
How it Works
1
Understand
Review the current position, existing commitments, activity and constraints.
2
Prioritise
Agree what matters most, where to focus and the appropriate level of ambition.
3
Build
Translate priorities into a strategy or roadmap with actions, responsibilities and milestones.
4
Embed
Establish how progress will be reviewed and prepare the organisation to move forward.
What You Receive

Strategy or strategic roadmap
A clear direction built around agreed priorities and ambitions.

Implementation plan
Practical actions, responsibilities, milestones and next steps.

Roles and responsibility framework
Clarity on who leads, contributes and oversees implementation.

Initial progress indicators
A proportionate way to assess whether implementation is moving forward.
The exact combination is adapted to your starting point, scale and internal capacity.
In practice: World Taekwondo
I supported the development of World Taekwondo's sustainability strategy and remained involved as an adviser through implementation. The work has expanded into governance and progress tracking, reporting, climate action, sustainable competition tools, education and other practical systems - helping connect strategic direction with day-to-day delivery.
